You'll all be pleased to know that here on the Shropshire/Herefordshire borders the damsons and bullaces are coming along nicely. We don't have a lot of blackthorn bushes about, so I don't know about them, but I guess it could be a good year....!

Re: This year's fruit
The sloes on my bushes at home are large and misshapen, and are turning yellow, this has happened to me once before, and they turned out to be just like dried out husks. Does anyone have an idea as to what the problem is?
Re: This year's fruit
I have also noticed in the west mids area that a lot of sloes are rotting away/becomeing yellow and misshapen on the branches and wondered what was causeing this, could it be a late frost or a parasite

This year's report from the Welsh Marches. Despite being able to bath in damsons last summer I'm pleased to report that, on my trees at least, there appears to be an abundance of small green fruit coming through the faded blossom! posting.php?mode=reply&f=4&t=554&sid=94 ... 7548154b85#
