Hi I made some sloe and apple jam yesterday. It tastes great but the texture is very course and not very jam like.

But there was no juice really just a fine mush.
I didn't add the sugar as the recipe quoted because it seemed a mountain for the amount of pulp I had so I used 1lb of sugar too 1 pint of pulp
Should I add more water next time maybe to get a finer jam ?
