Have just found a great patch of sloes in Epping Forest.
I've made sloe gin before and would like to make some jelly.
I know they are best after the first frost but can they be picked as late as December?
The sloes are quite soft but not rotten, they don't taste quite as astringent as they do in October
Can anyone advise?

not sure about sloes for jelly but i always like to collect Christmas sloes for gin when they are still plump but at their sweetest,i say go for it!
