I used the normal sloe recipe in the end but added sugar (experimentaly) about a fortnight before decanting them if that is any help

I wasn't really thinking "tramp" quaility just wondering sweet/dry, anyway as a practise I have put in a cheap one with more sugar, maybe next season i will go for a higher standard, I will let you know how it turns out....thanks

I have some "used Sloes" and am about to decant........what cider would you suggest quaility stuff or the stuff that is drunk under railway arches and parks

I have over the last few years made Blackberry Brandy 0.4kg of Blackberries (minimum) and 700cl of cheapest brandy add sugar to taste, since I normally make it in August by Christmas it is decanted and almost drunk......I do not know about a woody taste but will bear that in mind

Thanks, I did mine in may, one with rind and one with juice, they both seem alight what i intend to do is combine them and then add sugar, but i will try your recipe

Will serve it in coloured glass glasses, it has been suggested that I was over zealous in the shaking process

I have to agree with avjones on this concerning the strength, and as for recipe mine has is 70cl gin 500g sloes and 20g of sugar but the sugar is a matter of taste
